Photography Origins
I have always found joy and satisfaction from taking a good picture. Whenever I see a nice view or something cool, my first thought is most likely to take a picture of it, and I try my hardest to make it as good as possible. After I take the picture and I look at it, its such a great feeling to see how good it can come out. A specific example is this picture I took when i visited Tallahassee, Florida when visiting my best friend. I attached the picture below.
This photo was taken with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The stars are easily seen because of how little light pollution there was in the area I was at. In addition, the iPhone camera has a feature called night mode, where its able to enhance the visuals of the photo, making it look better than it did in person, as the phone is able to see some things we cant. This is a great example to demonstrate how technology for photography has advanced to make it better for not only those who do photography, but people who just enjoy to take everyday pictures like myself.
This can also be seen in modern day photo cameras. The first camera was invented in 1816 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce, which then made the first permanent photograph in 1826. With over 200 years to evolve, cameras have not only become more advanced, but they have also become more compact.
Below is the first camera from 1816.
Next, is a digital camera that is being manufactured today.
The most notable difference is the size. It used to be a large machine back then, but now it is something you can easily store in a backpack or bag. In addition, the quality and visual of the modern camera is beyond amazing when compared to the first camera in 1816. Its ease of use features can also be noted like a twisting lens to zoom and comfortable handles to get the best photos in the most comfortable way possible. These characteristics show how cameras have evolved for over 200 years since the very first one. With this, photography has been around for over 200 years, making it a staple in everyday life and popular hobbies.
Types of Photography
As photography has been around for so long, it has branched and created different types of photography. Some examples are portrait, landscape, macro, fashion, and many more. Since a picture can be taken of almost anything physical, the different types of photography are more than vast. Some photography types that interest me the most are landscape photography, car photography, and fashion photography.
Landscape photography is when a photo is taken of a landscape, per the name.
Below is an example.
Next is car photography. I have personally loved cars and I still do, so when going through my photos on my phone, i have many pictures of different cars that Ive seen throughout my life. Here is an example of a photo i took. Its simple, a nice Audi RS7 in the Florida sun.
